Digg denies sell-out claims
Social content website Digg has denied claims by blog TechCrunch that it is up for sale.
The site, which lets readers recommend articles to others, is reportedly working with investment bank Allen & Co in forming its pitch to big tech and media companies, reported the website.
Google and Microsoft are among the companies thought to be interested in buying the website, revealed Michael Arrington on the blog.
However, Digg's chief executive Jay Adelson denied the claims, issuing a statement on the company's blog.
"Normally our policy is to not comment about things like this, but this morning's rumours about a bidding war involving Google and Microsoft have created such a stir we feel compelled to tell you all directly that they are completely inaccurate," he wrote.
"Sorry to burst any drama theories, but they aren't true. We remain focused on improving Digg and rolling out great features."
