New CIM website for budding marketers
A new website is set to launch by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) that intends to give guidance to students wishing to get into the marketing profession.
The site is aimed at final year students and recent graduates, offering an overview of the marketing industry, advice on making applications and a marketing placement service. It also includes information on other career resources.
According to the CIM, 17,000 students graduated with marketing-related degrees last year, while a recent study by the Marketing and Sales Standard Setting Body found that 510,000 people are employed in marketing roles in the UK.
A spokesman for the CIM told Mad.co.uk the site would "enhance" the ability of graduates to get the key job they want.
Professional qualifications in marketing offered by the CIM include a professional diploma in marketing and the professional postgraduate diploma in marketing.
