Popularity of online video will continue to increase
The rising popularity of viewing video content online will not cease this year, a new report has suggested.
According to the Deloitte Digital Index, the number of people in the UK viewing video content online will rise to 50 per cent in the next five years.
At present, this figure stands at 19 per cent.
The index also noted that the popularity of viewing video content via mobile devices will not increase so dramatically.
One reason for this is that more and more consumers are watching video content online instead.
Deloitte also suggested that this lack of popularity growth will partly be attributed to the fact that many people are planning to reduce the amount of money they splash out on their mobile phones.
Currently just one per cent of consumers in the UK view video content on mobile devices.
In addition, Deloitte predicted that digital radios will become increasingly popular this year, with six per cent more people set to own one.
