Search marketing spend set for growth
Online advertisers are spending more on search engine marketing, a new report has shown.
The second UK Search Engine Marketing Report was produced by E-consultancy and Neutralize (**) and showed that around one in ten (nine per cent) of agencies and companies with first-hand experience of search engine marketing spend more than £1 million per year on paid search.
A further 16 per cent spend more than £50,000 on search engine optimisation annually.
What's more, 86 per cent of the 1,000 companies polled said they spend money to appear on Google's sponsored listings and 49 per cent use Yahoo!'s platform.
It was also found that the four most commonly offered paid search services were keyword research, landing page optimisation, ROI tracking and analysis and competitor research.
Recently, SearchIgnite reported that paid search revenues rose 28.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2008 when compared to the same months in the previous year.
